Unreal Engine 5 dropped, and I was itching to push its limits. So, I took on a challenge: a motivational video for Porsche, a brand synonymous with power and luxury. But I wanted to go deeper, to capture the spirit of freedom and adventure that lies at the heart of the Porsche experience.
Now, I’m no stranger to time constraints, so I set a 20-hour limit for myself. It ended up taking 25, but hey, who’s counting when you’re wrestling with the beast that is Lumen, Unreal Engine 5’s mind-blowing global illumination system?
Music? I was gonna make it myself, but with the clock ticking, I snagged some tracks from Envato Elements. A little mixing, some added beats, and bam – a soundtrack that’s energetic, not overly dramatic.
The car? Straight from HUM3D. The rest? Mostly freebies from Epic Games. A few landscapes were whipped up in World Creator and imported as heightmaps. Final touches in DaVinci Resolve.
So yeah, this was a challenge, a sprint against the clock, a test of my skills. But I think the results speak for themselves.
